Get ready to shell out more for your commute.
The Metropolitan Transportation Authority will raise fares on the city’s subways, buses and paratransit services this Sunday. Fares and tolls will also rise on the Long Island and Metro-North commuter railroads for those who travel from outside city limits.
Subway and bus riders will see the base fare of $2.75 rise by 15 cents to $2.90—the first fare hike for the city’s mass transit in eight years. The MetroCard’s seven-day unlimited pass will go up $1 from $33 to $34, while the 30-day unlimited will increase $5 from $127 to $132.
